Additional Information

Description

If you joined us for the "Supertour" of Lagoon this past December, you may remember how surprisingly few people it takes to run such a large and complex operation. One of the more impressive aspects of the park is its beautifully maintained flower beds and plantings, which may seem effortless to the casual visitor—but they are anything but self-sustaining.

Maintaining the park’s immaculate grounds throughout the operating season (March–November) requires significant planning, preparation, and ongoing work. They do not outsource these services, as with many other aspects of the park, this is vertically integrated.

We had originally planned to tour the greenhouses during the December Supertour, but due to weather, that portion was cancelled. We were graciously invited to return for a 'stand-alone' tour of the greenhouses and landscaping operations.

Now that the park is open, the grounds are filled with late winter and early spring displays, while the greenhouses are bustling with preparations for the late spring and early summer season.

Tour Details:

  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Be prepared for significant walking – comfortable shoes are necessary.
  • The current forecast suggests fair weather, but conditions can change. If it rains, the tour will still proceed—just bring an umbrella.
  • As always, lunch will be provided.
