My belief is that established professionals learn more from educational volunteering than those they are there to serve. Students ask the most insightful and challenging questions — by definition, you learn as you converse. I’ve noticed a significant increase in thought leadership as supply chain-oriented degrees and graduate programs evolve into specialized fields of study.
